Josie Remmel
Social Worker & Groups Coordinator
Masters of Social Work, Bachelor of Arts: Sociology and Criminal Justice, Two years' teaching experience
I am a social worker dedicated to supporting the children and families I work with. As the coordinator of Spark for Life's group programs, I enjoy creating engaging, fun experiences that help children build confidence, connections, and everyday life skills. Alongside coordinating groups, I also provide individual support services, working collaboratively with children and their families to help them achieve their goals.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, whether that's exploring nature, staying active, or trying something new. I'm happiest when I'm on the move! My favourite adventure buddy is my beloved black Labrador, Moose. I enjoy bringing the same energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm into my work, helping create positive and engaging experiences for the children and families I support.

More About Josie
What inspired me to become a clinician is deeply tied to both my lived experience and my core values. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate challenges without the right support system, which give me a deep understanding of the difference it makes when someone takes the time to listen, validate, and empower you. I feel a deep sense of purpose in walking alongside others as they rediscover their strengths, build resilience, and find their spark.
Being a social worker allows me to live in alignment with my values every day, creating space for people to feel seen, heard, and understood.
